St. PETE BUILDING NEW TRACK / QUALIFIER DATE CHANGE |
Due to a City of St. Petersburg’s event conflict and in order to give the brand new track location the most time possible the date for the St. Pete Qualifier has been moved 1 week forward to
January 23 – 25, 2009. But, once again the Florida SSA and the NBL have joined forces and the race will now count as both a Florida State Qualifier and an NBL Regional Event. Actually this one race will count for 6 separate sets of points:
1 - Double Points – Florida State Qualifier
2 - Single Points - NBL Regional/National
3 - Single Points - NBL Regional Jacket Series
4 - Quadruple National Points - NBL Regional Championship Series
5 - Double State Qualifier Points - NBL Regional Championship Series
6 - Credit towards the Florida 25/45 Race Award.
So a brand new track, 6 separate sets of points and the best racing in the NBL! That’s an exciting combination that will make for a great weekend of racing.
Steve Doan
State Race Commissioner

MORE ON THE GATOR NATIONALS |
As you may know, High Springs BMX is hosting the 2009 Gator Nationals on April 4th and 5th 2009. We have to get started on getting our track to the best operational status as possible. This is the first time the Gator Nationals in the sport of BMX is being held in TRUE Gator Country. Gainesville has the Gator Nationals of NHRA, and now High Springs BMX will have the Gator Nationals of BMX.
|
|
If you have ANY suggestions about what may need special attention at the HSBMX facility, what we may need to do, to make the track more functional, or suggestions about venders that may be willing to help support this event. Any suggestions are welcome big or small, please contact any one of our staff members at the track on practice and race days, or our contact page. If you would like to send your suggestions to HSBMX.COM, you are welcome to do that at webmaster@hsbmx.com and I will make sure it gets directed to the right person.
|
|
We will also be recruiting volunteers for the event days. There are a lot of jobs that need attention while hosting a major event. Get with any one of the HSBMX staff members to get signed up and show your support for your BMX race track. |
|
WORK PARTIES: ( Where a group of volunteers get together and work on the track... WE HAVE FUN)
Look for up coming WORK PARTIES. This is for volunteers and riders or anyone that would like to show their support. NO experience is needed, we will have a job for everyone. If you have any special skills, please make the staff aware of your expertise. If you can provide any tools like shovels, rakes, weedeaters, or any kind of yard tools, it will be greatly appreciated. |

A lot of people doing just a little bit is better than a few doing it all!

FLORIDA ROCKS THE PRESIDENT'S CUP AND TAKES THE TITLE |
as posted on NBL.ORG 12/28/2008
|
|
More than 180 motos raced their way into history inside the Virginia Horse Center for this year's President's Cup and when the dust had settled, Steve Doan, Florida's State Commissioner, was grinning like the Grinch from ear to ear. He had just watched his talent-laden team from the Sunshine State take the President's Cup title away from Michigan. NBL's new President, Ken Masters, who served as Michigan's State Commissioner this time last year, watched his old team drop to 8th behind a group of other challenging states. The Carolina's (North and South) and Ohio came close but Florida had more than 200 riders in attendance and they dominated the day.
THE RESULTS:
Florida - Carolinas - Ohio - Virginia - Georgia - Pennsylvania - New Jersey - Michigan - New York - Connecticut - Illinois - Maryland - California - Alabama - Kentucky - New Hampshire - Tennessee |

After a long time span of aggravation, we were able to regain ownership of
HighSpringsBMX.com that some may remember was one of the original web site names.
|
We also acquired the very first original track web site name, www.highspringsbmx.org
This will increase our site traffic and expand our presence on the web.
|
|
So if you happen to see these names out there on the web, they are the real thing. |
